Objetivo:
Identificar e interpretar las señales de tránsito y aplicar los principios básicos de la educación vial, como peatón y como conductor.
Procedimiento:
Los estudiantes de todos los grados del nivel primario de la Escuela de San Mateo Milpas Altas de Guatemala fueron educados para ser buenos peatones y conductores en las calles de la comunidad.
Por grados, los niños y niñas fueron pasando a la cancha de la escuela, en donde unos oficiales de la Policía Municipal de Tránsito los instruían para cruzar correctamente las calles como peatón, y respetar todas las señales de tránsito como conductores.
Les enseñaron a los niños a cruzar las calles y dar vuelta en las esquinas al conducir una bicicleta.
Se dieron todas las recomendaciones necesarias para evitar toda clase de accidentes en las calles de la comunidad.
Luego de la práctica, los estudiantes que la hacían correctamente, recibían un carné que los acreditaba como buenos conductores, pues ya habían aprendido las reglas necesarias para conducir en las calles.
Fue una vivencia muy significativa para los estudiantes, pues no solamente aprendieron la teoría de la educación vial, sino que vivieron la experiencia en donde pusieron en práctica lo aprendido.
